Pretaco exists because finding Mexican cooking ingredients in the Philippines is harder than it should be, and nobody had written down where to get them.
If you’ve tried to make tortillas here, you’ll know the problem. Recipes assume masa harina is on a shelf somewhere. It isn’t. You end up trawling Shopee listings that may or may not be the real thing, comparing prices across four different pack sizes, and guessing.
This site is the answer to that, written down. For each ingredient: who actually stocks it, what it costs once you adjust for pack size, which option is the best value, and what to do if you can’t get it at all.
Who’s behind it
One person, based in the Philippines, who got tired of the guessing. Not a shop, not an importer, not sponsored by anyone. Just someone doing the legwork and publishing it.
That means this grows slowly and covers a handful of things properly rather than everything badly. It also means when a page says a price was checked on a particular date, a human opened that listing on that date.
